Jamie Carver has a storied history in lacrosse as a student-athlete, coach, and advocate for the
sport’s growth. His passion and commitment to lacrosse have shaped numerous successful programs
and inspired generations of players.

Player Achievements

  • High School: Team Captain, Boys Varsity Lacrosse, Calvert Hall College High School
    (Towson, MD, 1990). Represented the United States as a member of the USA U18 Team
    (1990).
  • Community College: Played two seasons at the Community College of Baltimore County,
    Essex. Key contributor to the team's first NJCAA National Championship victory in 1991 (16-0
    record). Served as Team Captain in 1992, leading the team to the NJCAA Final Four.
  • NCAA Division I: Played for the University of Maryland Terrapins under legendary coach Dick
    “Big Man” Edell. Contributed to the team’s NCAA Tournament appearance in 1994 against
    ACC rival Duke University.

Coaching Career Highlights

Early Coaching and Growth Initiatives

  • Torrey Pines High School, San Diego, CA: Assistant Varsity Coach (1999–2000), helping
    the team reach the California State Finals twice.
  • The Cardinal Gibbons School, Baltimore, MD (2004–2007):
    o Established inaugural JV and Middle School Lacrosse programs.
    o Led the Varsity Team to two consecutive MIAA C Conference Championship
    appearances (2006, 2007), earning Baltimore Sun’s Baltimore City Lacrosse Coach of
    the Year (2006).

Florida Coaching Impact

  • Lakewood Ranch Lightning Lacrosse Club: Head Coach, leading the team to consecutive
    West Florida Lacrosse League Final Four appearances (2008).
  • The Out-of-Door Academy (ODA), Sarasota, FL (2007–2013):
    o Spearheaded the creation of the school’s first Varsity and Middle School lacrosse
    teams.
    o Coached Varsity Boys to a winning record (6-5) in their second season and led the
    Middle School team to a league championship in 2014.
  • Inspiration Academy, Bradenton, FL (2013–2014):
    o Developed a High School Summer Tournament Team featuring local standouts.
  • Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School, Bradenton, FL (2014–2016):
    o Guided the Falcons to District Tournament participation and top-four finishes.
  • Venice High School (2018–2023):
    o Established the first lacrosse program in school history, offering Junior Varsity and
    Varsity options for boys and girls.

Riverview High School (2024-Current):

Appointed Head Coach to continue fostering excellence in Sarasota’s lacrosse
community.

Lacrosse Program Development

Performance Lacrosse, Inc.

  • Founded Sarasota/Manatee’s first full-service lacrosse organization.
  • Provided training, development programs, and league play for eight years.
    Seahawks Lacrosse Club (2010–Present)
  • Founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting over 200 players annually.
  • Expanded operations to include Seahawks South in Venice/Nokomis, encouraging multi-sport
    participation and off-season training.
    Additional Contributions
  • Coached the U15 Fellowship of Christian Athletes National Championship Team.
  • Certified as a US Lacrosse Official with the Tampa Bay Lacrosse Officials Association
    (TBLOA).
  • Coached for Nike 3D Blue Chip and Sarasota Fire Travel Teams, earning multiple tournament
    championships.

Personal Philosophy and Family

Jamie Carver’s coaching philosophy emphasizes fundamentals, long-term athlete development, and
adherence to core values that benefit players on and off the field.
He credits his success to the support of his wife, Colleen, and their four children—Avery, Madison,
Mason, and Payton—as well as the mentorship of his parents, grandparents, and influential coaches,
many of whom are National Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductees.
